IRON REMOVAL PLANT

Concept of Iron Removal filter
In layman's terms, an Iron removal filter is that kind of filter that removes iron from the water. These are designed for removing the excess iron content present in the feed water with minimum pressure drop. It helps to treat the hardness of water by removing minerals and making the water soft. It is one of the problems that consumers and industrialists face a lot.

Now, how do we get to know whether our water contains an excessive amount of iron? If your water has a foul odor of a rotten egg or is reddish-brown, then your water has an excessive iron intake. Besides this, if pipes have got rusted and damaged, that is because of the excess iron in the water.

The presence of iron in water can prove harmful since it can pose problems related to the industries' design, cost, and operation. The presence of excessive iron can cause the discoloration of water, laundry, and plumbing fixtures.

So from where do, these iron particles come in water? Small amounts of iron are found in water due to the large amounts of iron present in the soil. Water from the tap is usually either color less or transparent. However, when it comes in contact with oxygen, it becomes of reddish-brown particle called rust.

Mostly, the working principle of removing iron content from the water is the oxidization of iron. In this process, iron's ferrous or dissolved (soluble) state is converted to a ferric or undissolved form. After that, when the conversion takes place, the ferric form of iron precipitates on the filter bed.

WATER SOFTNER PLANTS
Softeners can be operated manually, semi-automatically, or automatically. Each type is evaluated according to how much hardness it can remove before requiring regeneration. In residential water systems, hard water increases the likelihood of lime scale deposition. Pipes become clogged as a result of the lime scale build-up, and the efficiency of hot boilers and tanks is lowered. Domestic water heating costs rise by roughly 15% to 20% as a result of this.

Another disadvantage of lime scale is that it causes damage to household appliances, such as washing machines. Water softening entails extending the life of domestic machines, such as washing machines, as well as pipelines.
WATER CONDITIONER AND MORE

What does a water conditioner do?
A water conditioner is a system that prevents the buildup of limescale in plumbing by changing the chemical makeup of the water. It doesn't actually soften water, yet it is often referred to as a "salt-free water softener". The system uses a template-assisted crystallization (TAC) media to catch minerals like magnesium and calcium. These minerals build up until they break off into the output water. This makes the water still hard, but it can't stick to pipes and appliances.
How does a water conditioner differ from a water softener?
The most obvious difference between a water conditioner and a water softener is the absence of salt in a water conditioner, but the differences do not stop there. These two systems differ in the amount of water they use, the contaminants they remove, the contaminants they add, their effectiveness against limescale, and their cost.

Water softeners contain resin beads that exchange their sodium ions for hardening ions in water as it passes through the system. Once the resin beads lose their ability to exchange ions, a salt solution backwashes through the beads to rejuvenate the resin. This process flushes about 20 to 25 gallons of salt solution into the wastewater line. While this may seem like a significant volume of water, limescale caused by hard water can cause appliances to become less efficient, using more water than their limescale-free counterparts. In the long term, a home with a water softener can use less water than a home without any water hardness treatment.

In contrast to water softeners, water conditioners do not produce wastewater. Rather, they cause calcium and magnesium crystals to form in nucleation sites within the TAC media. This process does not require flushing at any point, wasting no water in the treatment process. Water conditioners are not as effective at preventing limescale buildup as water softeners, so water can be wasted if limescale forces appliances to work harder than normal. However, a water conditioner offers a significant improvement over no treatment system at all.
SAND FILTER
A sand filter is part of a water filtration system whose role is to remove suspended, floating, and sinkable matter from water so that it becomes safe for use. A sand filter uses sand to filter water through the process of sand filtration. The water slowly sinks through the sand of the sand filter, leaving the dirt particles from the water behind in the fine pores of the sand. A Sand Filter includes a multiport valve and an FRP Vessel.

A multi-port valve is a type of valve in which there are more than two ports and can have either 3, 4- or 5-way control depending on the application requirement. A Multiport Valve can be used to reduce the number of valves in the process line in industries.

FRP vessels or fiberglass reinforced plastic vessels are tanks or vessels made of composite material. FRP vessels have a lot of usefulness in both industrial and commercial water treatment systems due to their durability, lightweight, flexibility, and high strength. Thus FRP vessels are often considered the alternative to Stainless Steel Vessels.
